In my former church, it was not uncommon for anyone who refused to blindly submit to pastoral authority to be recognized as having a Jezebel spirit. Because I did not yield to the pressure to jump, run, bawl, spin, clap, etc., I was told frequently that I most likely had a Jezebel spirit. It was usually a woman who supposedly had this spirit, but men could also be under her control.
The evidence that suggested one had a Jezebel spirit included: Hatred of authority, a desire to control oneself or others, controlling finances in the home or church, controlling the flow of the Holy Spirit (like that would even be possible), hatred of the pastor's wife, and dressing inappropriately suggesting the presence of a spirit of lust.
Anyone else ever labeled "Jezebel"? Wonder if that teaching is still as prevalent as it once was.
