In the email I listed a few beliefs held by the pastor, if not by the entire congregation: 1.) Babies could possibly go to hell, because God knows where they life would have headed if they would never have died in infancy/childhood. 2.) God hates certain people (there is biblical justification for this, by the way.) 3.) Seeing the creation of the Universe through the filtered lens of the Book of Genesis's creation story. Earth had a crystalline barrier surrounding it before Noah's flood and was the reason why people lived to an extreme age. Dinosaurs and humans co-existed. 4.) Extreme anti-Catholicism. Mother Theresa and Billy Graham were false prophets. The latter because he let new converts go back to the RCC after his crusades. Christians shouldn't celebrate Christmas or Easter. 5.) The Government made David Koresh and the Branch-Davidians into a cult. They were a legitimate church, otherwise. 6.) PhD. was referred to as "Post Hole Digger". 7.) I believe I may have been the only person with a high-school diploma. 8.) The pastor told me that MLK was a communist. Not to overuse a cliche, but hindsight is 20/20. Thinking about these things listed here makes me cringe that I was buying into this stuff. What have you heard in your church in the past that now makes you cringe? Red T. Snyper

I cringe that I bought in to it all. In my defense, it was drummed into me since birth and it is hard to let go of things that you were raised on. I hate the idea that spiritual maturity was based on all the so called physical manifestations of the Holy Spirit. You were considered Holy, Spiritually mature, extra loved by God, etc, if you cuold speak in tongues, speak prophetically, keen and wail, fall under the power of God, raise your hands in worship and dance. I cringe that I did all of those things, simply to gain my father's approval. Most of the people that were considered spiritually mature and did all of those things were real jerks outside of church. I don't think that any of them exhibited any normal Christian traits on a daily basis. Love for others certainly wasn't high on their list and gossip was the their favorite pasttime.I also cringe at the whole Faith movement...the Blab it and Grab it Gospel. When my 82 year old father was in hospice care in my home, people from his church would come to visit him. As they left, they would pull me aside and tell me that I needed to have more faith. They blamed the fact that he was dying on me...said that I needed to start praying for a healing. I finally told one that I must be a pretty powerful person if what I did or didn't do could tie God's hands. She never came back to visit, but spread around that my lack of faith was killing my father.

Preacher as God: In the church that I grew up in, the preacher mandated unquestioning obedience to himself. If he felt God telling him to say something, he'd say it and "we" were to obey it. Period.

Our faith is based on a literal interpretation of what is perceived by the leadership to be an inerrant God inspired text – yes a belief that God literally spoke the words into the authors minds –hence the “word of God” and it was transcribed into written form and has been preserved perfectly through thousands of forms and hundreds of language translations over the past 2,000 years.
The King James version is the most correct from of this text in the English and is the final authority on matters of scriptural text.
That man is created with an immortal soul that will suffer in a pit of fiery damnation in hell if he is judged unworthy and will delight in a paradise in heaven if he is deemed acceptable. This fate is determined by God based on the acts he does, and even the thoughts he has while living his mortal life on the earth.
Sin is committing any act or thinking any thought that is less than perfect in the sight of God.
If you have one sin that is not repented of before your physical death, you will suffer fiery damnation for all eternity.
Acts required to3 lead to salvation from fiery damnation include: 1 repentance for being a sinful being and any thoughts and acts committed that constitute sin in the eyes of God.
2. Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ by an ordained apostolic pastor.
3. Receiving a baptism of the Holy Ghost from God. You know you have the Holy Ghost when you speak in tongues. If you’ve never spoken in tongues you have not received the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
The pastor is the supreme mortal authority in your life and you must submit to him and all his biblical interpretations because he is ordained of God to watch over your soul until you die or the rapture of the church takes place.
If you have a question for the pastor about the churches beliefs and or practices, you must agree with the answer he gives you. If you do not agree with his answer, you have a heart problem, are carnally minded, worldly and in rebellion. This is sin.
Any disobedience to god or what the church teaches about anything the bible does or doesn’t mention is sin. It is up to the pastor to determine what is right and wrong outside of the Bible.
Men cannot wear facial hair – it means they are hiding something
Women cannot wear pants of any kind at any time because that is men’s apparel - that is sin.
Jewelry of any sort, Makeup of any sort and hair coloring of any sort are marks of worldliness and pride (unholiness) and thus constitute sin.
People must wear long sleeves to be considered decent and holy.
Church services are 4 times per week. If you miss one without the persmissionof the paster yuo are in rebellion/have a bad attitude/need your spirit checked.
You must be faithful to attend every church service possible unless you are sick. If you are sick or want to be out of town and a church service would be missed, you must call the pastor and ask permission.
When you come to church service you should be ready to do everything physically possible to attract Gods attention and make him desire to endow his spirit on the congregation. If you can yell you must yell, if you can dance you should dance. If you have the holy Ghost you need to be free from sin and carnal pursuits so that you can get to the place where you can speak in tongues. If you are not in that condition, you need to pray to get there as quickly as possible so you don’t hamper the church service. The goal of the service is to have a move of God and the more jumping, screaming, dancing, running, and tongue talking is going on the happier God is and the more apt he is to bless the congregation with a move of his spirit. – Disclaimer – there are time however when God wants to be quiet and we need to be sensitive to this possibility as well.
The reason we need to be so demonstrative is that God demands thankfulness of heart from his believers because the of fact that they have been given the Holy Ghost, which means he has granted them a chance to elude fiery eternal damnation. Also, when they pay tithes and are faithful to do everything the pastor instructs them, he will also offer material blessings and he needs to thank for that as well.
Anyone in the world who has never spoken in tongues as they received the Holy Ghost has not even a chance to be saved from fiery damnation for all eternity.
Since no other Christian sect holds to these beliefs, all members of Christianity outside of the Apostolic/Pentecostal church with burn in hell.
