i recently and currently am reading Outliers and they say that wealthy kids increase their national testing scores in reading by 52 points over the
summer vacation and poor children have the vacation we all dream about with friends and family taking it easy.
my point is, i noticed how in christian schools ( since i attended one) a big emphasis was put on resting one day a week and no mention of the summer. Here is my point : could it be that those on the inside knew not to let their kids sit around all summer and quietly made sure they were reading and growing academically, because it seem all of a sudden in high school many of us were left behind.
i guess i am saying this seems to be more than individual parents acting alone but the "in crowd" who looked a me funny and said nothing, but i always remember their look as if to say their is someone who just does not care, he is lazy and uninvolved.
i know it sounds paranoid but these people are control freaks in every way and some times i think this way on purpose to see where it goes .
