For reasons that I will not get into at this time, I have had to be extremely careful about what I say to my children about church or religion. Therefore,
they have never heard me speak negatively about typical pente behavior in worship services. Although they have been raised in a pentecostal church, I have
attempted to raise them to be non-judgemental of anyone, regardless of their beliefs or actions.
Out of the blue yesterday my child said something very interesting. "I don't want to be that religion where the girls scream." "What religion is that?", I asked. He replied, "You know, the one like at that camp meeting." (We had recently attended a couple of pentecostal camp meeting services.) So I said, "Oh, that is just the way they worship God. Different people choose to worship God in different ways." He said "WELL, I do NOT need to scream to worship God. I don't even need to yell. God already KNOWS I'm here!"
