next I wish to read "The Toss of a Lemon" by Padma Viswanathan...
What's on your "to read" or "wish list"?
Do you get the audio book versions?

I just finished "The Odessa File" by Frederick Forsyth. I am currently reading "FDR's Folly". For early 2009 my reading list includes
some of the following:
The Conservative Mind A History of the Jews Rethinking the Great Depression Also, does anyone know if Thomas Sowell has a new book coming out soon? |

I'm currently reading "The Education of Koko" about the gorilla who was taught sign-language. Koko's story is my latest fascination, so the
rest of Penny's (Koko's "mother") books are on my wish list along with some time travel fiction.
I never listen to audio books unless I'm on a trip (I love them then). I'd rather read than listen. I don't comprehend as well nor am I able to stay as interested while listening as opposed to reading. |

Ooo, that looks good. I'm going to add it to my reading list. As soon as the dog began to talk I was captured.

I'm currently reading "The Bible Unearthed" by Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Silberman. It's a book on archeological finds in the Middle
East shedding new light on ancient Israel and the origin of their texts. Pretty cool stuff.
Coming up..... Who Wrote The New Testament? - Burton Mack The Blind Watchmaker - Richard Dawkins God's Problem - Bart D. Ehrman I got around another 20 sitting on a shelf and as e-books in my computer but those will be the next three.
"Atheism is a non-prophet organization." - George Carlin
"I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a whole lot more as they get older; then it dawned on me - they're cramming for their final exam." - George Carlin "I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose" - George Carlin |

"The Bible Unearthed" sounds good too. I'm adding it to my list, which tends to grow all out of bounds!
Reading whatever I want is one of the wonderful benefits of having left the restrictions of my former religious life. Reading is like exploring for me. Every title on my list is the possibility of a new adventure. |

"God's Politics" by Jim Wallis. For once, I'd LOVE to read that book from beginning to end!

I am not sure what happened but my original post to this thread was dleleted. I hate when that happens. But, as I was typing before. I have been
collecting books for the past five years and my library is getting larger. My wife tries to ban me from Goodwill where they have very cheap books. Sometimes
I'll find a book that looks very interesting. Also, www.paperbackswap.com has helped me add to my collection
of tomes. Here are the books I plan on reading within a few months:

I'm fortunate that my husband is as big a book lover and collector as I am. And I LOVE thrift stores for books. I can spend hours browsing.
That paperback swap looks like great fun. I'm going to join. |

For those who live in the Mid-West there is a nice thrift bookstore located in the Old Capitol Square in Springfield, Illinois. There is no rhyme or reason to
how they place their books. The fun is in walking in and finding something good but cheap.

connectedness to earth and all on it.

No problem but I don't know how to direct to it. I wouldn't mind browsing yours either. I have to warn you I don't have much to trade, although if
you're interested in some highly entertaining reading I have a book written by a Navy SEAL charismatic dork who thinks he's part of some end-times
elite christian warrior group.

Hey RedSnyper,
My nickname is tandc90 (from Springfield) if you want to check out my list. Have a good one! By the way, I just read Island of Bones. That was pretty good, and being from Florida I appreciated his accurate descriptions of the weather and all that sweating even at night, lol.
