Definitely an underrated band. I always liked this song "Somewhere in the World": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXt1edvzYnU Make sure to continue past the introduction. Perhaps it always gave me a sense of travellng to strange places, as I have always fantasized about. Here is another with a similar grove and chord progression "Am I the Same Girl": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl7IVbV58GM The happy and dreamy sound of these two songs connect very well with me. I like the two songs above I mentioned, but I have not found any others that appeal to my tastes. Like Yvonne Elliman, I only like her "If I can't have you." There is the period before the 1980s, and the period after the 80s ended up to today- the point being that the 80s were a birth of culture and it died out after 1989 ended.

Everything seems to have played out by then. We have done everything a guitar, bass, piano, keyboard and such can do. I think this is why during the past 10-15 years, there have been so many issues of "best-of" collections from artists. A few months back, I listened to a copy of a new Scorpions album. The talent is still there, but the stuff is derivative, and sounds like somewhat rearranging what they did back in the 80's. This happens in most art forms where the "gamut" plays itself out. In order to pursue new music, perhaps someone needs to invent a new type of musical instrument, now that the electric guitar and electric keyboard have "run the gamut." Maybe an electric bag pipe?
