How about:

"We speak healing into that [ear, lung, toenail, fill in the blank]."

"We speak life into that [tumor, white blood cell, heart, situation, whatever]."

This is big in the prayer meeting I've been attending. I assume it's part of that whole Word of Faith thing--but remember, I'm not a Pente insider, so I can't keep the various permutations of PCism straight without a scorecard. However, I believe it must be WOF, given other little signals I've gotten from this prayer group.

What's weird is that "We speak healing into this or that" doesn't really sound like a prayer to me. It sounds more like a command, as if we're bossing God around. But even that is not accurate, because, in truth, God doesn't seem to be a functional part of the equation. The speaker is not even addressing God; s/he's assressing the tumor or the body part or the situation or what have you. I guess the assumption is: "I'm a child of God, which means I have this authority in Jesus' Name, so I can take that authority and 'stand on it' and and command the evil stuff to go away." So God is involved in the equation in that way--but it seems kind of indirect, like He's one remove away. For all intents and purposes, it's us addressing the cancer or the upset stomach. God is pushed to one side. That's how it seems to me, anyway. (I don't want to be unduly critical or uncharitable, though. I do think the intentions are sincere. But the theology just seems warped.)

There's also the implicit assumption (sometimes EXplicit) that God will always heal---even though we know that He sometimes doesn't. I mean, people do get prayed over and yet still die of cancer. Ultimately everybody dies. Death Happens. But it's as if we can't even countenance that possibility. Hoo-boy, talk about diconnected from reality.
