Ok, so I know that we can debate what the word religion means until we are blue in the face. But for the sake of arguement, what I mean by the word religion is something you do religiously, that recharges your batteries, and brings you peace.
So a little back ground. This past weekend I was at my in laws place in Rhode Island, and for some reason I REALLY wanted to go to church. Now I have gone to church about four times in the last 12 years, one time was my wedding and another was a furneral. So it shocked me to want to go. So I told me wife that I would be going. I was going to go to the local AOG church. I told myself that I was going find out if it was still like I remembered it. I bought a journal, I am calling it my religion journal, so that I could take notes.
So Sunday morning comes, and I....drive right past the church and continue on to the local bookstore. I realized at that point that my "religion" now is ideas. Ideas encased in books, newspapers, media etc. I also realized that I need a down to earth religion. Something that speaks to me in the here and now. The way I feel, is that the here after (i.e the future), will come weather I am ready for it or not.
So I might as well concern my self with the present moment. So the question is what is your religion? What do you religiously do to find peace?
