Lanie- yes (I'm sad to relate), and it HAS happened in this county!

(I'd bet fairly often... the last election, every liberal political sign was torn down and in many cases replaced by extreme conservative signs... some offensive! That even happened in people's private yards and to their own signs!!!! There were many complaints from Democrats in this county that all of their signs were trashed- in some cases repeatedly when the people replaced them! They even caught a team of "Young Christians" going around and destroying Democratic political signs in the county east of us- they'd destroyed over a thousand Democrat signs!! I saw only ONE Democrat sign throughout the whole election- it was behind a fence with barbed-wire top and locked gate!)

Oh, and I might add that in this county, the Repugs won with a supermajority.
"Young Christians?" Is that the Pentecostal term for "vandals?" That's odd, I've always heard how "Law & Order" a lot of Christian Fundies of all stripes were...although yes I know, Pentecostals are different...and it's actually a crime to destroy political campaign signs! (Not least because they often aren't the property of those whose yards they're in.) When I was in high school a bunch of kids tried the same thing claiming religion as a motivator. They were dumb enough to brag about it too. Only problem was they hit the government teacher's yard too...and he pressed charges...turns out, upon further investigation, they were just high school idiots being destructive. Someone admitted to buying alchohol for said young Christians that night!

Political intimidation is terrorism...so if all these Dominionist nuts are claiming God wants them to vote republican...does that make the Republicans the "party of God?" Maybe a useful counterpoint would be to mention what the word is in Arabic for "Party of God"

Hezbollah, that's what it is, and in this country that word is much more associated with terrorist actions.
