*Bah!*
And you know what? I don't care! I wouldn't be there to hear it, so I really can't be embarrassed by it. When I was younger it was clear that God wanted us to vote Republican. Which didn't make sense to me, because after all, Mr Johnson was elected, and then later it was Clinton (Carter was a complete anomality), and how could they have been elected if God wanted a Republican to win?

Of course, Charlie, I'm doubly and trebly damned (quadruply too?), because I'm a liberal, divorced, have a college degree (in something that isn't nursing or missions or secretariality or something like that- history isn't worth studying, right?), and *gasp!* I sleep with my fiance.

Of course, here in Oregon that hardly makes a mark. 'Tis like the bit from Hamlet, Act V:

First Clown
Cannot you tell that? every fool can tell that: it
was the very day that young Hamlet was born; he that
is mad, and sent into England.

HAMLET
Ay, marry, why was he sent into England?

First Clown
Why, because he was mad: he shall recover his wits
there; or, if he do not, it's no great matter there.

HAMLET
Why?

First Clown
'Twill, a not be seen in him there; there the men
are as mad as he.
My current array of bumperstickers (including 'Jesus was a Liberal') are hardly remarkable here. I take it that where you are it would be an invitation to have my tires slashed?
