Wow the number of these that I've heard. I thought most were just localized. I just have to add a few.
Its not about
you
! --its not about God, either, but I'm not saying that.
It doesn't matter what you think. If I want you to have an opinion I'll give you mine! --what you think doesn't matter, but what I think is very important.
If you don't have convictions, borrow mine! -- see above
There are no big I's and little you's. -- (there is a pretty big ME, but no big I's) also see above.
You couldn't even breathe (spell your name, whatever) without God. --do something good and I'll tell you it wasn't you, it was God. Mess up and it will be all your fault!
You are so self-centered!-- And I won't admit that I'm self righteous and self centered. Don't ask questions, just cower!
God won't put on us more than we can bear *sigh* -- I don't know why you are going through something. Let me pat your head and it will all be better.
Ask, and it shall be given, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over-- if you aren't as blessed as
me
you must be sinning.
Man of God -- we are locked into the OT and we are NOT coming out
Give honor to whom honor is due -- go lick my boots.
Let the elder who rules well be counted worthy of double honor -- ok, not just my boots, but my tennis shoes and truck tires too. (but again there are no big I's and little you's, of course)
We have the truth! -- Just do whatever we say.
You gotta have faith! -- if things aren't perfect in your life its because you aren't doing enough
If you have the Holy Ghost you should be living above sin. -- I'm perfect; aren't you?
If you don't like it, there's the door! -- but I'm coming after you if you leave.
It isn't hate speech. Its truth! -- I can yell and scream and verbally abuse people, as long as I say its in the Bible.
ahhh thanks that felt good.
