Yes, that is an interesting point ... things do evolve and change over time. I recall that Pentecostal churches often bashed Catholics over some of the atrocities of the Middle Ages, which, while they were disturbing, I don't think Catholics today are big fans of burning people at the stake. Societies and cultures change and grow, and religious groups also often work out their problems better over several generations as they discuss and learn and consider.

Luth has said before that he wouldn't advise anyone getting involved in a Christian denomination that can't trace its history back for at least 500 years (Those that CAN trace their history back that far or further would include Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian/Calvinist, Episcopalian, etc), and I agree that those groups do seem to be the most stable overall today.

That brings a point of curiosity here ... does anyone think that one reason Pentecostalism is so bad is because it is a very young group? Do you think that it will mellow out in time? Or will it go more the way of Jim Jones and the People's Temple and simply implode and self-destruct?
