The first time this occurred to me, (having had help from people on this forum in the matter and looked at Lutherius's writings too) I did turn around and say, "Actually, I don't give you my permission to pray for me."

The people in question were all, "well, we don't have to have your permission - we are going to pray for you..."
I was astounded, "Despite the fact that I have specifically asked you not to pray for me, you are going to ignore that request and do it?"
The got all weird and proud and psuedo-holy and said, "Correct..."
All I could think of to say was, "Well, I don't think that is very polite actually.." and as they were constructing the idea that God's will was above the idea of being polite I walked away.
I felt totally manipulated and yes, I do think that such manipulative goings on are evil. Absolutely.

I think there's some good advice here. If the situation arose, I would like to think that I would stand up to these manipulative charismatics and tell them they mustn't pray for me behind my back.
