It's not like dealing with a pest of a kid- ignoring them seems to bring out the worst in trolls. At the same time, "feeding" them doesn't help either. Trolls are a difficult thing to deal with. Some will leave when ignored- some just become more vicious. If allowed to hijack the conversation (feeding them), they seem to get stronger and bolder.
I must say that I've never seen a community turn on a troll like this one did- it kind of reminded me of what happens if you stir a hornet's nest. (I was REALLY tickled!)
(I think most people will agree that pounding a Pentecostal/Dominionist troll is cathartic, as long as they aren't allowed to dominate the conversation or hurt people.)
Probably the best would be just to ban them and delete their posts. That removes their hate-filled voice and preserves peace. Or better yet, move the posts into some form of storage so if they start using sockpuppets or doing something like that, you have a record.
That is why if she PMs me again, I will not delete it. At this point, it becomes evidence.
