Perhaps taking Lutherius' advice and getting her to think about her own beliefs will help open her up to some of the ideas and information I recommended in the LGBT forum, but I don't know. Pentecostalism keeps a strong hold on people through fear.

Just a little clarification on what I was getting at. My purpose was to suggest a method that would halt the downward spiral of dysfunctional communications that almost all of us as Ex-Pentecostals have to deal with. I do not think that trying to change anyone is a good strategy, because it produces repression, and is likely to produce a flare-up as discussed above.

This is a situation where both sides are caught up in a communication blockage, likely with foundations in Pentecostalism and its culture as we all carry some of this baggage.

I think there could be a reconciliation here if the dysfunction were openly discussed. It looks like LFT is working toward opening up this channel.
