Would my father have killed me? No, not in a million years. Would my mother have killed me? Yes, absolutely. In fact, like Deer, I was always under the impression that my days were limited. She seemed to be always working up to it, talking about how God wanted her kids to be martyrs and such and that she had to be willing to give them up for God. When my little brother was born, she named him 'Stephen' and then she said later that she had a revelation from God that, like Stephen in the Bible, he was going to be the first to die.

Eesh.

People often ask how some people could sacrifice their children to the gods, like in ancient Peru and other such cultures. I have no doubt at all that if my mother had believed that God told her to kill us, she would have killed us without a second thought.
