One problem I've encountered with Pentes though...how do you humble somebody who has no shame? How do you convince somebody who's sense of right and wrong has been drowned out by all the lies that what they are doing is wrong?

Just for example: As far as I know, my ex hasn't worked a steady job in a couple years, granted she gets child support, etc. and welfare but that doesn't cover everything. Several months after she lost her last job, her car was about to get reposessed. Some unknown person or people paid the money she owed and caught up her payments. I heard all about this "miracle from the Lord" for about a month. (Granted, we weren't seeing very much of each other by this point, mostly just chatting via Windows messenger and Yahoo IM)

Now, six months or so later, she introduces me to Deb, a friend of hers, that lives in the same town. I'm shocked, because Deb is not Pente and really cool. We start talking, eventually I find out from Deb that a bunch of people from church paid up my ex's car payment because she was always going around telling her sob story about how things were so bad. (She'd heard this from people that went to the same church as my ex.) What's all the more funny is Deb told me she figured my ex had set us up...because my ex wanted to steal her man. (Who was, badly enough, in jail at the time and they broke up a few months later.) I also found out from her that my ex...who always told me she never slept with anybody else...was sleeping around. Funny enough, Deb and I went out to dinner once and hung out for a while, talk, and just laugh about it all. My ex of course accused us of hooking up, but Deb still had the man at the time.

Needless to say, my ex didn't get her miracle that she was expecting after 7 years (She believed if she "waited" for me for 7 years I'd come back.) All she ended up doing was making a fool of herself and losing any respect I still had for her.
