Yes, this is one of the finest statements on this phenomenon.

Yea, I posted this over at FCF though, and the fangs came out, I tell you. Oh yea, I forgot that in additon to be a god-less, god-hater, I was also called a "heretic" and possibly "demon posessed". I was asked what my definition of faith was within the context of that debate, the debate being on clothing standards. So of course I was referencing their "faith" in the power of clothing to "save", which one admitted they did believe. I used the dictionary definition of faith, "Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing."

Then this is what people said to me:
Quote:
"If you are using a secular source for your definition of faith instead of the inspired, inerrant, written revelation of God, then you are a heretic and anything you say is to be automatically rejected."

Quote:
"Mookey- Why are you here? What is it that you want? Do you want every body to quit attending Apostolic churches? Quit attending all churches? Quit believing in Christianity? Quit believing in God?

What is your goal and who is your intended audience? Just curious about your scorched earth policy."

Quote:
You say that the issue is about standards. Ok. And what are you trying to do when you post?

Alienate? Enlighten? Wound? Change? Inspire? Vindicate?

So far it looks very much like vindication.

My favorite all time response:

But I see she would rather be with me than monkey.
Who are these folks where did they come from? They want no dialogue.
Webmaster I know your busy but do we really need these folks who are God haters on this forum? If they stay I will answer in kind! Really a fool hath said in his heart there is NO God and if you stand arguing on a street
corner with a fool those who pass by may not know who the fool is. Just a thought!

well, whether they have been hurt or deceived, it really grieves my spirit. I don't like to judge others, but I have come across several that I would be apt to say are possessed.

in reference to the last quote:
Quote:
yeah, well - it is very sad, and there are some very difficult problems. The churches have terribly, terribly failed in some situations. Beyond this, the potential harm that comes of personal failures in the minstry - so much worse that failurs in private life, effecting MANY people with horrible harm - this is very visible in some of the victims.

And yes, they are combined with those who are themselves evil, and seditious. Its a very aweful thing to see, and ought to be visited by anyone who says "I run out of things to pray about".

Quote:
am not anyone's personal judge concerning the 2 ladies on this forum our discussion is NOT about them but the subject. Please do not confuse the two. They will stand before God not I.

(they always have to throw those little comments in about those who disagree being judged by God- you know what that means. Notice he said thay he wouldn't be standing before God, jjust us.

Then they quoted you, 666, on a post you put on our site, the one talking about getting as many apostolics out- or mabey that was Jay. One of your posts they posted over there.

Here is proof that they believe standards are heaven and hell issues, even though they act as though they believe to the contrary:
Quote:
All standards are heaven and hell issues, in some way.

Violation of standards will condemn a person unto whom the revelation of their divine origin exists, in their heart.

And my favorite circular logic argument of all-time:
Quote:
There is not one Pentecostal that believes one is saved by what they wear not one! We all believe what holiness we have is given by God to us. But we do believe one can be lost by what they wear! That is the difference what we wear or do not wear does not save us but it can will cause us to be lost.
:chin

How can one reason with madness? How can one debate with those who deliberately remain deaf and blind? It was an interesting journey into what makes people adhere to something, when every leg of the argument has been kicked out from under them. I would say that the reasoning is they are determined to maintain a "faith" in man-made rules and put them above even God's word. Can't teach an old dog new tricks.
I'm mortified... petrified... stupefied... by you.
