If it brings you healing then it is a good thing.

Having an abusive brother as a pastor and the whole AG being filled with evil narcissists who get off on abusing the meek I found myself turned off to ALL churches. That is a robbery because someone elses sin ends up suppressing our spirituality.

We certainly dont need to go to church to be spiritual or to experience the spiritual and those buildings that are on every corner that call themselves churches are not even biblical in the truest sense and it is unfortunate that we have been taught to believe that spiritual expression means attending a church frequently.

With that said, I am glad that you were able to feel moved and open to God during worship. That is a good thing so long as it does not become simple emotionalism or having leaders play songs to pull your strings. (which wasnt your case)

I dont believe in the church. I think it is a lie that came after Jesus. He was all about preaching the kingdom, not church. And EVERYONE has a place in his kingdom except for abusers. Church is all too often the polar opposite.

I salute anyone who is trying to exercise spirituality in opening up to God. I am sure that expression will be different for many of us. I am glad it helped you.
