You know, rejection from anyone about whom you used to care can be very hurtful. Especially if you've had a lot of shame based programming. But really, it's like my mom used to say when someone asinine would criticize me. "Consider the source." And I think that's what you have to do. Consider the source. Those are people you REALLY don't need in your life anyway. They are destructive to your spirit. And they probably don't really even understand what it is that they are doing. If anything, pity them, but move on to POSITIVE people who support you and add good things to your life. And learn from that experience too. It should show you just what a huge bullet you dodged with those people.

In fact, learn to be selective with all new people in your life. Anyone you add to your life from now on should enrich it and not detract from it. Learn to use your own good judgement and critical thinking skills in this regard. And listen to your GUT. LISTEN to it. If it feels wrong it likely is.
