Who's to say that they don't? I'm sure that certain Messianic congregation might focus on such trivial matters. And there are Pentecostal/Holiness sects which insist that women are not to wear pants, as it is wearing that which pertaineth to a man. This rule is Old Testament in origin. What I don't get though is why many Pentecostal/Conservative Holiness girls wear there hair in a single braid. This is actually expressly forbidden by New Testament scripture, if you were to literally go by the letter of the law, rather than the intended spirit.

"Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments," _ 1 Timothy 2:9 NASB

And in fact, this is what the "Bible in Basic English" says.

"And that women may be dressed in simple clothing, with a quiet and serious air; not with twisted hair and gold or jewels or robes of great price;"

So according to this interpretation, even hair buns/chignons are forbidden. And personally, I don't see why women can't just let there hair hang down loose, as nature intended. _bun/chignon _ braid/plait _ loose.

Now which would you think New Testament christians most like would have had?
