England has some nice things when it comes to picturesque rural places. In my trip to the UK back in May, we spent a lot of time in the Lake District. The landscape reminds me somewhat of Northern California's coastal hills region. And one guy explained to me the concept of a Foot Path (I hope I got that term right) where public walking paths stretch all over the country.

One interesting thing about piano Etudes is that for the most part, they are not meant to be listened to. However, Chopin's Etudes often sound pleasing to the ear in addition to getting the workout. Chopin is among my favorites.

In Barrow-in-Furness it brings back memories of places with character. There was this old church with the vestry and everything. I suspect in time, it was no longer needed, or abandoned. It was converted into a hotel, bar and restaurant. The sanctuary still had the pews, stained glass, but it was used as a dance room for the bar. In the former vestry, the place was converted into several hotel rooms, one of which we stayed in for our trip. In the back of the church, the large room was used as a conference meeting room. I think the building was perhaps 400 years old, if not more.

I know exactly what you mean. In the past year or more, I have moved on from serious religion discussions, and have focused upon areas of my life where I am strong, and have navigated around my weaknesses for the most part. When you think hard about it, we do not offer others our weaknesses, but our strengths. At our jobs, we are hired for our strengths. So, we might as well sharpen those strengths as best as we can. Also, focusing on where we are strong brings out our life force, where we are so refreshed by the work, that we do not notice time passing by because we are seemingly "outside" of time - we are tapping into our Inner Eternal.
