It's by Mike Judge (of Office Space, a classic) and is a wonderful bit of satire about the dumbing down of society that is both frightening and hilarious.
It's not on par with Office Space but pretty darned funny anyway. I have to give warning that the language and humor is atrocious but in context due to
future "Uhmericans" (it takes place in the year 2505) having the personality of your average teenaged MTV and VH-1 spawn. The Oscar winning movie of
2505 is called Ass, and the most popular TV show is called Ow, My Balls! if that gives you any indication. Starbucks has become a full-service shop for men, it
takes "about an hour" to reach the other side of the Costco (where the greeter says "I love you" to one and all), and fast-food orders
include an offer for an order of "big-ass fries."

That was one of the funniest parts along with the history museum referring to the now-defunct U.N. as the "un."
If anyone enjoys Jay Leno's Jaywalking they'll be both frightened and entertained by this movie, lol. |

I like the fact each person has their occupation written on the arms of their sleeves. I want to water my lawn with Brawndo.

I loved this movie. And just think, we can see it going on all around us today!

I agree, Johny. At the Idiocracy message board at IMDB there is a long and entertaining thread about how far we already are towards Uhmerica.

It has classic written all over it: Mike Judge, the director of Office Space, directs this, and it stars Luke Wilson and Maya "SNL" Rudolph.

My father recommended this movie to me. And in the first week, I watched it maybe five times. I kept telling other people they needed to see it and even
dragged it in to my work and the person I work with watched it with me.
I love just about every part of it. I can easily see this happening.

Eric, have you seen Office Space? It's just as funny if you've ever worked in the corporate atmosphere.

Yeah I saw Office Space and loved it. I haven't spent a lot of time in that atmosphere but I spend enough to know that I'm glad I avoided it.
